Austin Guinea Pig Rescue is a very small organization with no staff. This means we rely solely on the fosterers and volunteers who generously provide their time and support to achieve our goals. Our main officers usually take responsibility for collecting our rescued animals from local shelters and taking them to the vet when needed. But there are many other things YOU could help with, such as...
- Assisting at adoption/information events: We sometimes attend adoption/information events to raise awareness of our rescue and to educate the public about responsible small animal care. These events are usually on the weekend and last about four hours, although you could do shorter shifts if needed.
- Transporting animals: Often when an area shelter has animals in need of a foster home, we rely on volunteers to transport them to a board member or foster home.
- Create flyers or artwork: Sometimes we need support in creating images, presentations, or artwork to be used at events or online. We also sell merchandise and need designs for this, too. Lend your artistic skills to our cause!
Note: While there is no age limit on volunteering, we require that all children be directly supervised by their parents at all times. Anyone who tries to open cages without permission or tries to remove animals from their cages will be asked to leave. Some animals are elderly or sick and it would be detrimental to their health.

Get involved now! Fill out our application and one of our officers will contact you at the earliest opportunity. Thank you for your interest and generosity!
